Secondary
The possibilities for development in students aged 12-16 are endless. With adolescence comes many advantages and complications; pupils learn to confront problems independently as they discover their own unique personality. Whilst we promote critical thinking and prepare students for their Baccalaureate (either national or international), they continuously develop their skills and acquire new, more complex classroom contents.

Students continue with an education in ethics that acts as the cornerstone of their development.

Methodology
Our methodology aims to create critical minds that are able to develop the necessary learning tools, whilst strengthening their individual talents. The foundations for this methodology rely on the prevalence of peaceful coexistence within the entire educating body, in which tolerance, respect and responsibility are always present.

Working with projects
We use projects as a part of the syllabus in all subjects (each term the students complete projects for each and every subject). This is vital in order to learn the necessary skills that help our students to reach their academic objectives.

  • It promotes inquisitiveness and investigation.
  • Students learn how to research and develop information.
  • It strengthens teamwork, promotes coexistence, tolerance and assertiveness, which are key international values

  • Students will be able to better organise their work
  • All linguistic abilities are put into practice

  • Research and laboratory practice
The school has a very active research department.

  • All of our students are investigators. They formulate hypothesis that lead to unexpected discoveries, hence further stimulating and motivating a healthy appetite towards learning.
  • Many research projects are awarded each year in several national and international contests. This includes science exhibitions, which is a unique experience for our students.

  • Laboratory practice is a daily activity for our students in the experimental subjects (technology, biology, physics and chemistry).

Values
The promotion of good ethics is ever present in our school as it is a key part of our educational system. We work towards ensuring that our students are able to understand others and the society around them as such an education helps them to achieve the self-confidence they need to feel personal satisfaction.

  • The basis of our work is that our students learn to recognize their own emotions so that later on they are able to identify them in other children. We promote empathy as a key element to a healthy relationship between members of the group.
  • Although values are worked on in a transverse way, it is also carried out in an exclusive way in Ethics classes.
  • An assembly is held every month in order to work on the values of dialogue and agreement
  • Values such as responsibility, consequences and commitment are exercised through several activities are carried out by students at school (the centre offers the spaces and supervision): Supportive group (GOE), music group, theatre group, internal sports league, short-films group, research group, environmental group, etc.
  • We promote solidarity through humanitarian events. The entire school participates in a highly active way through the GOE group (a group of various classes in Secondary education whose main objective is to promote these kinds of events).

  • Cultural exchanges
The international program of school exchanges play an important part in our students’ comprehensive education. The exchanges are not just school trips, yet an opportunity to become integrated in a family from a different cultural background, and a way of learning how to be a good attentive host for the visiting students.

  • Exchanges promote values such as tolerance, empathy and responsibility.
  • They encourage our students’ autonomy.
  • They are an irreplaceable and life-enhancing experience.

  • They are a very powerful tool in developing open-minded people.
  • Exchanges can create bonds of international friendship that may last forever.
  • We organize exchanges with European, North American and Asian countries.

Trilingualism
English, Spanish and Catalan are the common languages used in the school. In order to achieve full trilingualism, English remains as the most dominant language in the school curriculum.
